The Kremlin has issued a statement following the talks in Riyadh, in which it emphasises that the truce in the Black Sea will take effect after sanctions against Rosselkhozbank and other Russian financial institutions involved in international food trade are lifted.
The press release generally repeats the official statement of the White House, which said that the US and Russia had agreed to a ceasefire in the Black Sea and that the parties would ‘develop measures’ to ensure that mutual attacks on energy facilities cease.
The US statement said that the US ‘will help restore Russia’s access to the global market for agricultural products and fertilisers’.
Washington also says it is seeking to reduce Russia’s ‘marine insurance costs, as well as expand access to ports and payment systems for such transactions’.
