Russian missiles have targeted electricity generation and transmission facilities across the country, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko.

Due to the large-scale attack, Ukrenergo has initiated emergency power outages in some cities and regions.

Emergency shutdowns have been reported in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, Odesa, and Donetsk regions, local authorities said.

Energy infrastructure was damaged by shelling in the Volyn region.

The large-scale missile attack on several Ukrainian regions began around 06:00. An alert cancellation has not yet been announced.

In response to Russia’s extensive missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian territory, the military command in neighboring Poland has deployed fighter jets.

“In accordance with current procedures, the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces has activated all available resources, with an additional pair of fighter jets on duty and ground-based air defense and radar systems on high alert,” the Polish military stated.

Earlier reports from monitoring channels indicated that bombers were launched from two airfields in Russian territory, and around 06:00, the launch of cruise missiles was recorded. Kalibr missiles were launched from the Black Sea.

Throughout most of the night, attack drones were active over several regions.

Explosions were reported in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Kyiv. In the capital, debris from a missile strike caused a fire on the roof of a five-story building in the Pechersk district, injuring at least one person.

Reports indicate casualties, including dead and injured civilians.
