During the night of 9-10 November 2024, Ukraine faced an unprecedented drone attack, as reported by the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Throughout the night, radio engineering units of the Air Force detected and monitored 145 air targets, which included Shahed strike UAVs and other unidentified drones.
By 09:30 a.m., it was confirmed that 62 enemy drones were downed across 13 regions of Ukraine, including Odesa, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Donetsk.
In various regions, 67 drones were lost from tracking, while 10 additional drones exited Ukrainian airspace, heading towards Moldova, Belarus, and Russia.
The attack led to damage to residential buildings and private properties, particularly in Odesa region. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties, and assistance is being provided to those affected.
The air attack was countered by anti-aircraft missile units, aviation, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups from the Ukrainian Air Force and Defence Forces.
