Former Justice Minister Denys Maliuska explained that the deletion of the registers by the Russians does not pose a serious threat, as the Ministry of Justice has numerous backups and all data will be restored in the near future.
According to Malyuska, cited by Ukrayinska Pravda, most of the information that Russian hackers claim to have stolen was already available in open sources. The exception is the data from the State Register of Civil Status Acts, which is one of the most closed registers. It stores data on births, marriages and other events, as well as information protected by law, including adoptions.
The former minister noted that Russian hackers’ attacks have changed since the start of the full-scale invasion, moving from stealing data to destroying it.
Malyuska stressed that all backups are at the disposal of the Ministry of Justice, so there will be no loss of information.
