Starting next year, cadets of Ukrainian military higher education institutions will receive a significant increase in their salaries. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Serhiy Melnyk during a working meeting with cadets of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy in Lviv.
According to him, starting from March 2025, cadets of the 1st and 2nd year of study will receive payments at the level of the minimum wage, which is currently UAH 8,000. In turn, 3-4 year cadets, who are equated to contract service, will receive more than UAH 20,000.
‘Improving the salaries of cadets is an important step to support young military personnel, and these payments will continue to be increased in accordance with the coefficients,’ said Sergiy Melnyk.
The meeting with the cadets was held in the format of an open dialogue, the Ministry of Defence said. The deputy minister assured that the defence ministry will continue to work to improve the conditions of training and service. He also promised to hold regular open meetings with cadets from all military universities in Ukraine.
