On January 13, the Verkhovna Rada supported the dismissal of Vasyl Malyuk from the post of head of the Security Service of Ukraine. 235 deputies voted in favor of the decision.

This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

“Let’s analyze this. For other dismissals, which were also not voted for by Holos and the EU, the Rada today gave 265-270 votes. For Malyuk’s dismissal, only 235 voted in favor. That is, they lost about 35 votes. But pay attention to the breakdown. This issue was the most problematic in the chamber this week,” the MP wrote.

Earlier it was reported that after his dismissal, Malyuk will remain in the SBU system, but will move from administrative management to direct supervision of asymmetric operations.

Major General Yevhen Khmara is currently acting as head of the SBU.
