On the night of September 10, at least eight Russian UAVs crossed the Ukrainian border into Poland. According to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, the military shot down all the drones that crossed the country’s airspace last night.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called this an escalatory move by the Russian Federation.
According to Zelenskyy, Moscow is always testing the limits of what is possible and, in the absence of a response, remains at a new level of escalation.
“Today there was another escalatory step – Russian-Iranian ‘suicide drones’ operated in Polish airspace, in NATO airspace. Not one ‘suicide drone’, which could be called an accident, but at least eight strike drones that were aimed in the direction of Poland,” Zelenskyy wrote.
The Ukrainian president noted that this precedent is extremely dangerous for Europe.
“Whether there will be further steps depends entirely on the coordination and strength of the response. The Russians must feel the consequences. Russia must feel that the war cannot be expanded and will have to end,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
After a massive attack on Ukraine, rescuers are now working in Volochysk, Khmelnytskyi region, where a Russian missile hit a sewing workshop. As of now, three people are known to have been injured.
As a reminder, last night, Russia launched 415 drones of various types and more than 40 cruise and ballistic missiles at Ukraine. Fifteen regions were under attack. One person was killed in the shelling in Zhytomyr region.
