Ukraine has submitted an official updated application for membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and hopes to receive candidate-country status this autumn. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this after a meeting with OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann.

According to Zelenskyy, OECD membership is important for Ukraine. The updated membership application was submitted to the organization by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.

“We hope to receive candidate-country status this autumn. The next stage is a roadmap to OECD membership,” the president said.
