He collected intelligence about the Ukrainian military and planned terrorist attacks against the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who were undergoing combat training at the training ground.

‘The agent received a ‘carte blanche’ from his supervisor to choose the method of liquidation of the Ukrainian military. Thus, according to one of the ‘scenarios’, the traitor had to make an improvised explosive device (IED) and then covertly plant it in the headquarters or training building,’ the statement said.

Counterintelligence officers detected his intentions in time, documented his contacts with Russian special services and detained the traitor at the stage of preparing the plan.

In addition, it was established that he was collecting intelligence for the FSB – in particular, on the number and nature of units training at the training ground.

He has already been served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code – high treason under martial law. He is currently in custody without bail. The punishment under this article provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
