In Kharkiv, energy facilities damaged by Russian attacks were inspected, leaving about 100,000 families without centralized heat supply. Repair work is continuing around the clock, and the provision of necessary equipment and infrastructure protection measures for the region is being coordinated.

This was announced by Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Denys Shmyhal visited energy facilities in Kharkiv that were damaged by Russian strikes and inspected the progress of repair work. According to him, energy workers are working around the clock to restore electricity and heat, but the damage is significant.

He also familiarized himself with the engineering protection at the facility damaged by the shelling, which has made it possible to preserve the main equipment. During the discussion of the urgent needs of Kharkiv energy workers, instructions were given to transfer the necessary equipment from the Ministry of Energy hub for rapid restoration, and relevant requests were prepared for partners.

A separate meeting was held on the state of electricity, heat, and water supply in the Kharkiv region.

Reports were heard from the head of the regional state administration, the regional power company, and energy workers on the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities in the region. Needs were coordinated. Everything necessary is being provided from the Ministry of Energy’s hubs. In addition, orders for additional equipment for repairs have already been placed through the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund, according to the report.

During the meeting, the issue of protecting energy facilities was also discussed. A certain amount of work has been done in the Kharkiv region, and these measures must be continued and strengthened. At the same time, the President of Ukraine instructed local authorities to prepare plans for protecting energy infrastructure for the next heating season, which are expected from city and regional heads by September 1.
