Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Budapest will block the adoption of the EU’s 20th sanctions package. He wrote about this on X ahead of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting.
According to Szijjártó, the European Union plans to adopt a new sanctions package at tomorrow’s meeting, but Hungary will not support the decision.
He stated that until Ukraine resumes oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia through the Druzhba pipeline, Budapest will not allow decisions important to Kyiv to move forward.
