The 1,198th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. From June 4 to 5, 169 battles took place on the front lines. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 61 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, 31 in the Kursk direction, and 25 in the Lyman direction.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
During the day, the enemy launched two missile strikes using two missiles against the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, as well as 76 air strikes, including 118 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it carried out 4,897 shellings, 71 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,874 kamikaze drones to strike targets.
The aggressor carried out air strikes on the following populated areas:
- Rychky, Vorozhba, Pysarivka, Myropil in Sumy region;
- Borova in the Kharkiv region;
- Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Markove, Novopil in the Donetsk region;
- Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Kamyanske, Ternuvate, Mala Tokmachka, Kamyanske in the Zaporizhzhia region;
- Radisne in the Dnipropetrovsk region;
- Olgivka in the Kherson region.
Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Lyman, and Siverskyi directions
Over the past day, four combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv direction in the areas of Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, and Kamianka.
Two attacks by the occupiers were recorded in the Kupiansk direction over the past day. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults in the Zagryzove area.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 25 times. They attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Hrekivka, Novyi Mir, Karpivka, Lypove, Ridkodub, and Torske.
In the Siverskyi direction, two clashes took place near Bilohorivka and Verkhniokam’yanske over the past day. All attempts by the enemy to advance were repelled by Ukrainian defenders.
Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk directions
Over the past day, eight clashes took place in the Kramatorsk direction near Kurdyumivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, and in the direction of Bila Hora, Markove, and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 11 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Toretsk, Romanivka, and Rusin Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 61 attacks by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Malynivka, Myrolyubivka, Hrodivka, Lysivka, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Kotlyarivka, Horikhove, and Andriivka.
Novopavlivka, Orikhiv, and Kursk directions
In the Novopavlivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 13 enemy assaults near the settlements of Odradne, Vesele, Vilne Pole, Novosilka, Novopil, and Bahatyr.
In the Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovsk directions, no enemy offensive actions were recorded over the past day.
In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 31 enemy attacks over the past day. The invader also carried out 170 artillery strikes, two of which were with multiple launch rocket systems, and 17 air strikes, during which 31 guided bombs were dropped.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
