The Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to hold back the offensive of Russian troops, which increased the number of combat engagements to 82 per day. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary as of 16:00.
Situation at the frontlines:
- Sumy region: Communities of Petrushivka, Shalygino, Nova Huta and Bila Bereza came under fire from Russian artillery, mortars and rockets.
- Kharkiv sector: Enemy attack in the area of Vovchansk, fighting continues.
- Kupyansk sector: Russian troops attacked near Glushkivka, Ukrainian defenders are holding back the enemy.
- Liman sector: The enemy carried out 13 attacks near Hrekivka, Pershotravneve, Kopanky, Novoyehorivka, Novoplatonivka and Makiivka. Seven combat engagements are ongoing.
- Kramatorsk sector: Ukrainian forces repelled seven attacks on Stupochky and Chasiv Yar. Five of them have already ended without success for the occupants.
- Pokrovsk sector: 25 out of 33 attacks in the areas of Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachanske, Zelene, Pokrovsk, Novyi Trud, Pershyi May and Shevchenko were repelled. The most active fighting took place near Dachenske.
- Kurakhove sector: 13 enemy attacks near Petropavlivka, Ukrainka, Kurakhove and Dachne. Seven breakthrough attempts were repelled.
- Vremivka sector: Nine attacks near Kostiantynopilske, Velyka Novosilka and Vremivka. Four battles are still ongoing.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks.
In other areas, the enemy did not take active action.
The General Staff noted that the Ukrainian military are steadfastly holding the line and inflicting losses on the enemy.
