For the first time in boxing history, AI will monitor the fight between Usyk and Fury

For the first time in the history of boxing, artificial intelligence will monitor the fight between British Tyson Fury and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

This was stated by the head of the Saudi Arabian General Authority of Entertainment, Turki Al-Sheikh.

“For the first time, a judge with artificial intelligence will monitor the fight. Without bias and human errors,” he wrote.

However, AI will not affect the outcome in any way – if the fight goes the full distance, the judges will determine the result. The technology will track metrics to evaluate the fight, such as punches, aggression, and time in the clinch.

The second confrontation between the heavyweights will take place in Riyadh on December 21. In the first fight, the undefeated Usyk inflicted Fury’s first career defeat and became the absolute world champion.
