Explosions and fires hit power facilities in Oryol, Vladimir, and Yaroslavl overnight

During the night of October 31, several regions of Russia experienced explosions and fires at energy facilities. The incidents were reported by Russian Telegram channels, including ASTRA.

In the city of Oryol, the local thermal power plant was attacked. According to ASTRA’s OSINT analysis, one of the strikes hit the plant’s open switchgear unit, leaving parts of the city without electricity. The regional governor confirmed the attack, stating that drone debris had damaged power equipment. While no fire occurred, heating and water supply were temporarily restricted in several districts of Oryol.

In the Vladimir region, ASTRA reported that the Vladimirskaya electrical substation in the settlement of Energetik was hit. A fire broke out at the site but was later extinguished. The facility is one of the region’s largest energy hubs, serving power lines of up to 750 kV.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that during the night, its air defenses allegedly shot down 130 Ukrainian drones over 14 regions of the country, including Oryol, Yaroslavl, and Vladimir.
