An explosion of ammunition occurred near the village of Kalynivka in Kyiv region, according to sources of Dzerkalo Tyzhnia. The detonation happened during transportation by rail. At the time of the incident, the Kharkiv–Przemyśl train was moving along the route and was forced to make an emergency stop after the overhead line was damaged. Hundreds of passengers were evacuated to a nearby forest strip. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities.

The head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, confirmed damage to railway infrastructure in the Fastiv district. He said that together with Ukrzaliznytsia and emergency services, work is underway to eliminate the consequences. For passengers of train No. 73 Kharkiv–Przemyśl, a transfer to Kyiv was organized: some were taken by buses, while others were moved onto another train. Three women required medical assistance due to acute stress.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that long-distance trains will be rerouted via Myronivka or Korosten while repairs are carried out, leading to schedule deviations. Railway staff are working to accelerate trains and manually adjust connections.

For instance, train No. 23 Kyiv–Chełm is already running via Korosten with delays, while train No. 73 Kharkiv–Przemyśl has departed on a changed route through Kyiv and Korosten, with an expected delay of at least four hours. Passengers unable to board this train will be allowed to use any other service toward Przemyśl throughout the day without exchanging tickets.

To avoid morning disruptions, Ukrzaliznytsia has organized additional suburban services between Kyiv and Boyarka. A clock-face schedule has been introduced for the entire Sunday, including trains No. 6101–6113 with stops at Karavayevi Dachi, Kyiv-Volynskyi, Vyshneve, and Tarasivka. Restoration works are ongoing.
