As of 16:00 on 9 February, 64 combat engagements were registered at the frontline. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions and stop the offensive of Russian troops. The most tense situation is observed at the Pokrovsk and Kursk directions.
Situation at the front
- Kharkiv sector – Ukrainian forces repelled an attack near Vovchansk, another firefight is ongoing. The enemy launched an air strike with unguided missiles near Nesterne.
- Kupyansk sector – four Russian attempts to break through the defences in the areas of Bohuslavka, Petropavlivka and Zahryzove were registered.
- Liman sector – six attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Novosergiivka, Yampolivka and Novolyubivka. One firefight is still ongoing.
- Kramatorsk sector – two enemy attacks near Chasovyi Yar continue.
- Toretsk sector – the enemy carried out five attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, two engagements are still ongoing.
- Pokrovsk sector, 26 combat engagements were registered. Ukrainian troops repelled 22 attacks near Zelene Pole, Vodiane Druha, Yelizavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Andriivka and Dachne. Four battles are ongoing. The enemy launched air strikes on Zvirove and Pokrovsk.
- Novopavlivka sector – Ukrainian forces repelled five attacks near Kostyantynopil, two more battles are ongoing.
- Gulaypole sector – Russians launched guided missile strikes on Gulaypol and Chervone, and unguided missiles on Novosilka.
- Orikhivsk sector – Pyatikhatky and Kamianske were hit by unguided aerial missiles.
- Prydniprovskyi sector – no active hostilities.
- In the Kursk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 attacks, and seven more battles are ongoing. Occupants made 233 artillery attacks, four of them were made from multiple launch rocket systems.
Overall Situation.
Ukrainian forces continue to deplete the enemy both on the front line and in the rear. The situation in other sectors remains stable.
