The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the situation as of 16:00 on 23 August.
The heaviest attacks were recorded on the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian forces attempted 23 times to break through defenses near the settlements of Mayak, Nove Shakhove, Krasnyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoukrainka, and in the direction of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Balahan, and Molodetske.
Intense fighting is also ongoing on the Lyman direction, where Ukrainian defenders repelled seven attacks in the areas of Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Kolodiazi, and toward Shandryholove and Dronivka, with two clashes still ongoing. On the Kramatorsk direction, five enemy assaults were repelled, and three clashes continue.
On the Toretsk direction, the enemy attempted to advance seven times, with four battles still active. On the Siverskyi direction, five attacks were repelled near Hryhorivka, Pereizne, and Fedorivka. On the Kupiansk direction, three enemy assaults were recorded, two of which were repelled, and one clash is ongoing.
On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out two attacks on defensive positions, as well as four airstrikes and over 80 artillery shellings.
On the Prydniprovsk direction, two attempts to advance were unsuccessful. On the Novopavlivka direction, 12 attacks were recorded, with four clashes still ongoing.
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces continue to wear down the enemy along the entire line of contact and inflict losses in the rear.
