On the night of 7 September, a drone attack in the Krasnodar region caused a fire at one of the technological facilities of the Ilsky oil refinery. This was reported by the region’s operational headquarters.
According to official data, the wreckage of the UAV fell on the territory of the enterprise, after which a fire broke out covering an area of several square metres. The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no casualties. The refinery staff were evacuated to shelters, and firefighters and emergency services worked at the scene. Videos have appeared online allegedly showing the aftermath of the fire, but their authenticity has not been confirmed.
At the same time, the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi (‘Madyar’), reported another strike on the Druzhba oil pumping station in the Bryansk region. According to him, on the night of 7 September, the Naitopovychi station, which had already been damaged at the end of August, was attacked again. At that time, the explosion completely burned down the pumping station, a key element of the facility.
The Russian Ministry of Defence said that 69 Ukrainian drones were allegedly shot down over Russia and annexed Crimea during the night. The largest number — 21 — were in the Krasnodar Krai, 13 in the Voronezh Oblast, and 10 in the Belgorod Oblast. The rest were allegedly destroyed over the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov, Bryansk, Kursk, and Ryazan regions and in the waters of the Sea of Azov.
