Denmark hands over 6 F-16s to Ukraine, 13 more to come

Denmark has handed over the first batch of six F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine out of a total of 19 planned. This was announced by Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“Our plans for the F-16 remain unchanged. Six aircraft have already been delivered – this is the first batch. We have been training Ukrainian pilots since August last year. This is a complicated process, but it is moving forward. There will be two more batches in the future until we deliver all 19 aircraft,” Frederiksen said.

The Ukrainian Air Force is already using F-16s in combat operations. During a massive air attack on November 17, when Russia used various types of missiles and Shahed attack drones, Ukrainian pilots flying F-16s shot down about ten enemy targets.
