On October 12, a Russian attack on Vinnytsia hit a civilian infrastructure facility. Roshen Corporation later said that its production complex in the city had been struck.
The head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Natalia Zabolotna, reported the strike on the regional centre.
“A civilian infrastructure facility in Vinnytsia was damaged as a result of the enemy attack. All services have been dispatched to the scene. Information on the consequences is being clarified,” Zabolotna wrote.
According to the State Emergency Service, the fire caused by the Russian strike has already been extinguished. Bomb disposal experts inspected the area around the civilian infrastructure facility for explosive hazards. No injuries were reported. More than 50 rescuers and 13 pieces of equipment were deployed to the scene.
Roshen later said that its production complex in Vinnytsia had been damaged in the strike. Thanks to the timely activation of the warning system and the rapid evacuation of employees, no one was injured.
The company also said that, following the attack, Russian propaganda was spreading claims that its facilities were allegedly involved in “drone production.”
“ROSHEN officially denies this information. The corporation’s enterprises produce confectionery products and do not manufacture drones or any other products for military use. The production complex in Vinnytsia is a civilian facility,” the statement said.
