As of 16:00 on November 5, Ukrainian Defense Forces have recorded 205 combat engagements since the start of the day, according to the General Staff. Ukrainian troops are taking measures to prevent Russian forces from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory.
Border communities, including Novovasylivka in Sumy region, came under Russian artillery fire.
On the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk axes, Russia launched seven airstrikes and carried out 85 artillery attacks. On the South-Slobozhansky axis, Ukrainian forces repelled seven assaults, while five more clashes are still ongoing.
On the Lyman axis, Russian troops attempted 23 assaults; seven clashes continue. On the Sloviansk axis, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 attacks, with two more engagements ongoing. On the Kostyantynivka axis, Russia launched 29 assaults.
The situation remains most intense on the Pokrovsk axis: Russian troops attempted 84 advances toward Ukrainian positions. Ukrainian forces have already repelled 68 of these attacks; 16 clashes are still ongoing. In Pokrovsk itself, Ukrainian units are conducting strike-and-search operations to prevent Russian infantry groups from consolidating in the city.
Special operations units, National Guard, military police, and military intelligence units have been deployed to reinforce defense in the area.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, Ukrainian troops repelled 23 assaults; on the Huliaipole axis – eight clashes, two of which are ongoing. On the Prydniprovia axis, Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks near the Antonivskyi Bridge.
No significant changes are reported on other front lines.
