“We thank our Australian partners for supporting Ukraine and the energy sector in these difficult times. We continue to restore and rebuild the equipment damaged by the enemy and, thanks to the help of our partners, return light and heat to the homes of millions of Ukrainian families,” Galushchenko said.

As a reminder, Australia has announced an additional contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund at the end of 2024. This brings Australia’s total contribution to the Fund to about EUR 18 million.

The Energy Support Fund for Ukraine was established in April 2022 on the joint initiative of Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson at the Energy Community Secretariat.

So far, the announced contributions of partners to the Fund amount to more than EUR 1 billion. The Fund’s donors include the public and private sectors from more than 30 countries, including EU member states, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as international and regional organizations.
