Today, 19 December, as part of repatriation measures, 1,003 bodies were returned to Ukraine, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian servicemen.
This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Investigators from law enforcement agencies, together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will carry out all examinations and identify the repatriated bodies.
The transport of the repatriated bodies to specialised institutions and the organisation of the transfer of the deceased to representatives of law enforcement agencies in the Ministry of Internal Affairs system and forensic medical examination in the Ministry of Health system will be carried out by personnel from the Central Administration of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Centre for the Provision of Measures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
