Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Ukraine must develop its own ballistic missiles as soon as possible, as they will serve as an effective guarantee of the country’s security.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in an evening address on May 2 following a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff.
During the meeting, they discussed the provision of Ukrainian brigades, the staffing of units, as well as the missile program, the development and production of weapons.
“The task is to accelerate the creation of our Ukrainian ballistics as much as possible. Our long-range capabilities are a clear and effective guarantee of security for Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
The president also held a separate meeting on the development of military aviation, in particular the Ukrainian F-16 program. According to him, this concerns aircraft that are already in Ukraine, as well as those that will arrive in the near future and in the long term.
To strengthen aviation management, personnel decisions have been made in both the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.
“We are now seeing very good results, and I want to thank everyone who is working hard to develop our military aviation,” the president emphasized.
