President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a conversation with US leader Donald Trump during a meeting of the G7 countries, expressing hope for continued US support for Ukraine.
The meeting took place on February 24, the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as part of the G7 meeting.
“As for Donald Trump… We have just had a constructive conversation. It was a good conversation within the framework of the G7 meeting chaired by Canada,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president thanked Canada for organizing this meeting.
“We hope that the United States will continue to support Ukraine in the same way as our other partners. It is important not to lose the unity between Europe and the United States,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
According to Zelenskyy, during the G7 meeting with Ukraine, the participants discussed the importance of all countries participating in peace talks with Russia – the United States, Europe, Ukraine and other countries.
“Today we talked about the need for security guarantees for Ukraine and real ways to ensure the cessation of this Russian aggression and the prevention of any new one. We need peace,” the President of Ukraine said.
Вже традиційне засідання лідерів G7 за участю України й дуже важливий знак підтримки нашої держави та людей.
