President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the security guarantees document between Ukraine and the United States is 100% ready. Ukraine is now waiting for a date to sign the agreement.
Zelenskyy made the statement in Vilnius during a joint press conference with the presidents of Lithuania and Poland. He said bilateral security guarantees from the United States are a top priority for Ukraine.
According to the president, once signed, the document will be submitted for ratification to the US Congress and Ukraine’s parliament in line with previous agreements.
Zelenskyy also noted that European security guarantees are another key element, including a coalition of willing partners and Ukraine’s membership in the European Union, which he described as economic security guarantees.
He added that Ukraine wants a specific accession date in 2027, saying the country would be technically ready to open all EU negotiation clusters in the first half of 2026, with full technical readiness expected in 2027.
