President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, during which he stressed the need for a fair decision on the frozen funds from the sale of Chelsea Football Club.
This was reported by the Office of the President of Ukraine. The leaders discussed further diplomatic steps and joint efforts to achieve greater justice in light of the consequences of Russia’s war, as well as preparations for an upcoming leaders’ meeting and coordination between national security advisers.
Zelenskyy noted that 18 European participants are involved in the joint work and that coordination with the US side is ongoing. He separately emphasized that the frozen £2.5 billion from the sale of Chelsea FC can and must be used to protect lives and support Ukraine’s reconstruction after Russian strikes.
The Ukrainian president thanked Keir Starmer for his leadership and the United Kingdom for its support and for pursuing fair decisions.
