President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced a Cabinet reshuffle and personnel changes among the heads of Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies. According to him, the changes are intended to ensure the implementation of Ukraine’s renewed domestic and foreign policy strategy.

Zelenskyy said that each priority area of foreign policy would be assigned to a specific experienced official.

The president identified relations with the United States, agreements on licenses to manufacture Patriot systems, bilateral security cooperation and a European anti-ballistic missile project as key priorities.

Ukraine also plans to focus on advancing towards European Union membership, deepening its economic, political and cultural ties with the EU, and rebuilding relations with neighboring countries.

“This particularly concerns Poland and Hungary,” Zelenskyy said.

Other priorities include cooperation with countries in the Middle East and the Gulf, relations with China and engagement with international organizations that influence global decisions and could do more to help end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

On domestic policy, the president called for stronger work in Ukraine’s frontline and border regions, which are subjected to Russian attacks every day. He also said supplies of weapons and all types of drones to the military must be increased.

Zelenskyy named preparations for winter as another critical priority. He said Ukraine must be ready for every possible threat and that the transformation of state-owned companies crucial to the country’s resilience must be accelerated.

Ukraine’s reconstruction agreements with international partners will also require special attention.

Zelenskyy said he had discussed the planned changes with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and concluded that implementing the new strategy would require a Cabinet overhaul.

The president thanked Svyrydenko for her work as prime minister and offered her the opportunity to lead a new major area of relations with a key partner. He did not specify which partner or role he meant.

“I expect that together with members of parliament, we will carry out the necessary changes in the Ukrainian government. There will also be changes among the leadership of law enforcement agencies,” Zelenskyy said.
