A new round of trilateral talks involving Ukraine, the United States and Russia is expected to take place before autumn. Before that, the US side plans to discuss with Moscow the proposals presented to Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a joint press conference with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, Suspilne reported.
According to Zelenskyy, during a recent phone call with US presidential envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, he received proposals that the American side is later expected to discuss with the Russians.
“I think there will then be a trilateral meeting. Of course, all of this needs to be done before autumn. I believe we need to work persistently on this. If it depended on us, it would already have taken place in July. But not everything depends on us,” Zelenskyy said.
The president also said he could visit the United States and meet with US officials. The main topic of those talks would be finding ways to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
