Ukraine will continue its operation against Russia’s oil refining industry in response to Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy sector. The next targets for long-range strikes have already been determined.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this following a briefing on Ukraine’s deep strikes.
The president thanked the units of Ukraine’s Defense and Security Forces for the precision and systematic nature of the long-range strikes.
“The operation against the Russian oil refining industry continues — in response to Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, Ukrainian power plants, energy grids, heating and water supply facilities, as well as civilian logistics, remain under constant attack by Shahed drones and missiles.
Zelenskyy noted that Russia has not changed the nature of its attacks and has rejected the de-escalation steps discussed by partners.
“We have determined our next responses,” the president stressed.
Zelenskyy calls the strikes one of the factors putting pressure on Russia
The president also referred to the humanitarian operation in Oleshky. According to him, its experience showed that if Vladimir Putin decides to stop the war, there can be silence.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine wants peace as soon as possible, but for that to happen Russia must decide that the time for war has run out.
“Our long-range sanctions, our mid-strikes, as well as all the pressure from our partners on Russia over this war — this is what creates motivation for real negotiations,” the president said.
Earlier, “Glavnoe in Ukraine” reported that Ukraine had submitted its proposals to the United States regarding possible outcomes of the upcoming trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi, while the negotiating teams remain in constant contact.
