President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy has responded to publications about the United States suspending military aid to Kyiv. According to the president, military assistance will continue.
Volodymyr Zelenskiy said it during a press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, the We Are Ukraine TV channel reports.
“I know that there are some restrictions on 90 days of humanitarian programs. I know that there are many institutions in the world that were supported by the US government. I can only say what Ukraine may not receive. I am focused on military aid, and it is not stopped, thank God,” the president said.
Also, as the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, said today, the US support for Ukraine’s defense capabilities under the assistance packages provided is not suspended.
“U.S. military assistance to Ukraine continues, in particular under the military assistance packages that were approved earlier,” said the head of the Center.
As a reminder, the day before, a number of media outlets reported that the US State Department had issued a “shutdown” order for all available foreign aid and that this would affect some humanitarian projects for Ukraine.
According to Politico, the new order “appears to include military support for Ukraine.” Voice of America correspondent Ostap Yarysh denied Politico’s information.
“The Pentagon tells me the opposite – that this order does not include military support. I don’t know what exactly POLITICO means. I suspect it may be about the FMF program, but the funds allocated to support Ukraine have long been spent,” he wrote on the X network.
