        Yaroslava Maguchikh wins gold at the 2025 European High Jump Championships

        Ukrainian track and field athlete Yaroslava Maguchikh became the 2025 European Indoor Champion, winning the high jump competition. The final took place on March 9 in Apeldoorn (the Netherlands).

        Nine athletes who had qualified competed in the final. Ukrainians Kateryna Tabashnyk and Yulia Chumachenko did not make it to the decisive stage.

        Maguchikh overcame a height of 1.99 meters on her second attempt, which allowed her to win gold. Serbian athlete Angelina Topic took second place (1.95 m), and Engla Nilsson from Sweden won bronze (1.92 m).

        This victory was Maguchikh’s third at the European Indoor Championships. Previously, she became the champion in Torun 2021 and Istanbul 2023.

        The day before, on March 8, Ukrainian athlete Oleh Doroshchuk won gold in the men’s high jump, setting a personal best of 2.34m.
