President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Vasyl Maliuk is stepping down as head of the Security Service of Ukraine and will focus on carrying out asymmetric special operations against Russia. According to the president, this area must become the strongest in the world.

Zelenskyy said this after meeting with Vasyl Maliuk. He noted that he thanked Maliuk for his combat work and proposed that he concentrate specifically on asymmetric operations against the occupier and the Russian state. The president also said they discussed candidates for a new head of the SBU and stressed that the necessary resources and political support are in place to strengthen this direction.

Zelenskyy also reported a meeting with the head of the SBU’s Special Operations Center “A,” Yevhenii Khmara. He thanked Ukrainian special forces for their significant combat contribution throughout the full-scale war and said that the experience of the SBU’s SOC “A” will be scaled up, while new special operations are currently being prepared.
