Four production workshops were destroyed as a result of the strike on the Russian Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol.

The plant, which specialises in the production of military drones and microchips for them, has completely stopped working, according to ASTRA.

One of the drones flew into the window of workshop No. 106, another into the roof of workshop No. 110, after which an explosion and a large-scale fire occurred. As a result, the roof of the 1,300 square metre building collapsed.

Three employees were killed in the attack and 45 others were injured, 35 of whom were hospitalised. The metalworking, microchip soldering and drone assembly sections suffered the most damage.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack, noting that on 1 July, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with other units of the Defence Forces, struck the Kupol plant.

This enterprise, founded in 1957, is one of the leaders in the Russian military-industrial complex. After the start of the full-scale war, the production of Harpyia-A1 strike drones, which use Chinese components, was established here. The plant is subject to sanctions by the EU, the US, Canada, Switzerland and Ukraine.
