As of 4:00 p.m. on August 2, Ukrainian forces have engaged in at least 50 combat clashes with Russian troops along the frontline. The enemy continues its assault operations, according to an update from Ukraine’s General Staff.
Border settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions came under fire from Russian territory. The affected localities include Zarichchia, Karpovychi, Klyusy, and Leonivka (Chernihiv region); Prohres, Oleksandrivka, Riasne, Kucherivka, Khodyne, Tovstodubove, Studenok, Ulanove, and Pokrovka (Sumy region); as well as Lemishchyne (Kharkiv region).
On the Northern Slobozhanske and Kursk axes, Ukrainian defenders repelled five attacks. Russia carried out seven airstrikes, dropped ten guided aerial bombs, and launched 126 artillery shellings.
On the Southern Slobozhanske front, Ukrainian troops repelled three assaults near Vovchansk, Kamianka, and Krasne Pershe. Two clashes are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Kupiansk, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove three times. One engagement remains underway.
The Lyman direction saw particularly intense fighting, with 11 Russian assaults reported near Karpivka, Hryhorivka, and in the direction of Cherneshchyna, Serednie, and Shandryholove. Six clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops made one unsuccessful attempt to advance toward Novomarkove.
On the Toretsk axis, four attacks were repelled near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, and toward Ivanopillia, with one battle still ongoing.
The Pokrovsk direction saw the most activity. Russian forces launched 14 assaults near Popiv Yar, Novoeconomichne, Sukhietske, Rodynske, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirrove, Udachne, Zelenyi Kut, and Novoukrainka. Ukrainian troops repelled 13 of them, while fighting continues.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy carried out six attacks near Maliivka, Voskresenka, Novopil, and toward Filiia. Three battles are still ongoing.
Russian airstrikes also targeted Bilohiria (Huliaipole direction), Novoandriivka (Orikhiv direction), and Lvivove (Dnipro River sector).
The situation on other parts of the front remains unchanged.
