Ukraine’s Defense Forces are not planning to withdraw from Pokrovsk and continue to hold positions in the northern part of the city. At the same time, the situation in Myrnohrad remains more difficult, and a controlled withdrawal there is considered possible.
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a source familiar with the situation on the Pokrovsk front, Russian forces are currently using Pokrovsk as a “manpower accumulation point” and are moving additional reserves there.
“For the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the task is positional defense. Nobody is planning to leave the city at the moment,” the source said.
According to the source, Ukrainian troops also remain in Myrnohrad, but the situation there is “significantly more difficult,” meaning a controlled withdrawal “may take place.”
The source noted that the intensity of fighting on the Pokrovsk axis remains high, including during the so-called “ceasefire” on May 9-11.
At the same time, Russian aviation remains one of the main problems for Ukrainian units in the Pokrovsk area, the source said.
Logistics also remain difficult, especially when it comes to evacuating wounded personnel. According to the source, Ukrainian troops are using ground robotic systems and “inventing complex schemes” to evacuate soldiers.
