Ukrainian defence forces destroyed a North Korean KN-09 multiple launch rocket system in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
The target was detected and fire was adjusted thanks to a drone from the 4th Regiment of the Ranger Special Operations Forces.
The target was hit by a single high-precision GMLRS shell fired from an American HIMARS MLRS. The strike landed a few metres from the installation, but the debris caused a fire that destroyed the MLRS.
The KN-09 is a 300 mm calibre rocket system capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 200 km. It has two launchers, each carrying four missiles.
