At 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time on October 27, Ukraine will introduce a ceasefire in a designated area of temporarily occupied Oleshky in Kherson Oblast. The ceasefire will be in effect exclusively for a humanitarian operation aimed at helping local residents and preparing for their freedom of movement out of the city.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the decision.

The humanitarian operation involves delivering aid to people who remain in Oleshky and preparing conditions for civilians to move freely out of the city.

“We urge everyone to be particularly careful about the information they receive and share during this period. Use official sources of information,” the statement said.

Ukrainians were urged not to spread rumours about the routes, times and locations of civilian movements or humanitarian convoys.

“Ukraine’s Defence Forces are doing everything possible to help the residents of Oleshky and will ensure the implementation of the relevant decisions to safeguard and rescue our fellow citizens,” the General Staff said.
