Ukraine has received liquefied natural gas from the United States via Greece for the first time, which is an important step in ensuring the country’s energy security. This was announced by the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak.

According to him, DTEK energy company accepted the cargo at the Greek LNG terminal, confirming the high level of international cooperation. The agreement with the US company Venture Global is valid until 2026, ensuring stability and confidence in the future for millions of Ukrainians.

This step underscores Ukraine’s desire to integrate into the global energy market and reduce its dependence on Russian energy resources.

DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko noted that such cargoes not only provide the region with a flexible and secure source of electricity but also undermine Russia’s influence on Ukraine’s energy system.
