President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, where tasks were set to provide Ukrainian forces with long-range drones for next year. The strengthening of electronic warfare systems and the preparation of new sanctions against Russia were also discussed separately.
This was reported by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, the participants of the meeting heard detailed reports on the capabilities of electronic warfare systems and their use to protect infrastructure.
Zelenskyy noted that this component of defence accounts for a significant share of the neutralization of Russian “Shahed” drones. Additional tasks were set for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian manufacturers to scale up the most effective solutions.
Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence also reported on Russia’s technological priorities for this year and next year, as well as supplies to Russia of critical components and equipment for weapons production.
Based on this information, Ukraine will prepare new sanctions packages. Defence Intelligence is to submit its proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Security and Defense Council. In addition, Kyiv will work to synchronize Ukrainian sanctions with restrictions imposed by its partners.
The meeting also set the main tasks for providing Ukrainian forces with long-range drones next year.
“The main criterion is that we must have the capability to respond to Russian strikes in kind,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
