President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is actively preparing for mass production of domestic ballistic missiles “Sapsan”, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“Today we held a lot of meetings on strikes with KABs, drones, fiber optics, etc. And we also held meetings on missiles,” he said at a briefing.
According to him, positive tests of this weapon were conducted even earlier, and now the focus is on scaling up production.
“Today, the possibility of mass production of a ballistic missile is being developed. When, how, in what quantity – I cannot say,” Zelensky stressed, without disclosing details for security reasons.
He also added that the “Sapsan” missile is not a new development, its tests have been successfully conducted even before today.
“Sapsan” is a Ukrainian operational-tactical ballistic missile, which is being developed by a number of defense industry enterprises.
The complex is being created to hit important targets at long distances – in particular, command posts, ammunition depots, enemy equipment and airfields.
