Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak announced the completion of the first negotiation session with the U.S. delegation in Geneva, calling the meeting “very productive” and one that shows real progress in developing a plan to achieve peace.

According to Yermak, the Ukrainian and American sides achieved “very good progress” while discussing proposals aimed at securing a just and lasting peace.

“Ukrainians, more than anyone, deserve this peace and long for it. We sincerely thank our great friends — the United States, President Trump personally and his team — for their commitment to the cause of peace,” Yermak said.

He added that a second meeting will take place later today, with the participation of European partners. The talks are continuing at the level of negotiating teams, while the final decisions will be made by the presidents of both countries.

The Geneva negotiations come amid active international discussions of the U.S. peace proposal, which Kyiv and its allies are working to refine ahead of the announced deadline.
