Ukrainians’ confidence in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has increased amid deteriorating relations between Ukraine and the United States. While in early February, 57% of citizens expressed confidence in the head of state, as of early March, this figure reached 68%.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
As of the first half of February 2025, before the deterioration of relations between Ukraine and the United States, 57% of Ukrainians trusted Zelenskyy, while 37% did not. The balance of trust and distrust was +20%.
Between 14 February and 4 March, the level of trust in the head of state increased to 67%, while the share of those who distrusted him decreased to 29%. Accordingly, the balance of trust and distrust improved to +38%.
The study also showed that the level of trust in Zelenskyy is consistently high in all regions of the country. The lowest rate was recorded in the East – 60% of support against 36% of distrust. In other regions (West, Centre, South), trust ranges from 66-69%.

The survey was conducted by telephone interviews among 1,029 respondents aged 18 and older who live in the government-controlled areas. The statistical error does not exceed 4.1%.
