Russian presidential aide Yuriy Ushakov has said that Russia perceives the proposal for a 30-day cease-fire as an attempt to give Ukrainian troops time to rearm.

Ushakov made this comment in an interview with Russian propagandists.

‘We take it as an attempt to give respite to Ukrainian troops, who are going through difficult times now. The Russian army is advancing in all directions, and in this situation we can perceive [the ceasefire] as some kind of attempt to give time for the Ukrainian military to rearm and regroup,’ Ushakov said.

The presidential aide added that Russia’s position and concerns are well known to everyone. ‘And we have brought them to the Americans as well,’ he said.
