As of 16:00 on 8 February, Russian troops continue active assault operations in various parts of the frontline. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
A total of 60 combat engagements have been recorded since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian defenders are holding back the enemy’s offensive, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.
- Kharkiv sector – two attacks were repelled near Vovchansk.
- Kupyansk sector – the enemy attacked three times near Petropavlivka and Zahryzove.
- Liman sector – four attacks near Novove, Novoyehorivka and Yampolivka.
- Kramatorsk sector – three attacks in the areas of Chasovyi Yar and Bila Hora, and an air strike on Makove.
- Toretsk sector – four attacks near Krymske and Toretsk, airstrikes on Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka.
- Pokrovsk sector: The enemy made 17 attempts to break through, 12 attacks were repelled, and 5 more are ongoing.
- Novopavlivka sector – five attacks were registered near Kostyantynopil, two battles are ongoing.
- Gulyaypol direction – an attack in the direction of Novopil with the support of aviation, air strikes on Gulyaypol and Novodarivka.
- Orikhivske direction – the enemy attacked Olhivske from the air.
Border settlements continue to suffer from enemy shelling, in particular, Bila Bereza and Chuykivka in Sumy region.
Kursk region – Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks, six more battles are ongoing. The enemy carried out 18 air strikes, dropped 26 guided aerial bombs and fired 309 artillery shells.
In other parts of the frontline, the situation did not change significantly. The Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to hold back the enemy and inflict losses on it.
