The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a missile strike on the Belgorod Reservoir dam. This was reported by Russian media and the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
According to preliminary data, several HIMARS missiles struck the facility. As a result of the attack, several technical buildings, the lifting mechanisms of one of the sluices and the crest of the dam were damaged. At the same time, the structure itself was not destroyed, and there is currently no threat of flooding of nearby settlements.
Two people were reported wounded — a civilian man and a Rosgvardia employee. Both suffered multiple shrapnel wounds.

Governor Gladkov confirmed the attack and said that a repeat attack could lead to the destruction of the dam and the risk of flooding several villages, home to about a thousand people. Local authorities have been ordered to prepare temporary accommodation in Belgorod for residents facing evacuation.
The strike on the dam was another episode in a series of explosions and attacks that have recently become increasingly frequent in Russia’s border regions.
