Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi summed up the results of January and reported significant losses suffered by the Russian army. According to him, Ukrainian forces have stabilized the situation at the front and continue to reduce the enemy grouping.
Syrskyi reported this on social media.
He noted that during the first month of the year, total enemy losses amounted to 31.7 thousand personnel, which is nine thousand more than the number of reinforcements to Russian forces over the same period.
During the meeting, the implementation of combat and operational tasks was also analyzed, including repelling air strikes, manning and supplying the troops, conducting engineering and fortification works, and maintaining law and order in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the commander-in-chief, in January DeepStrike assets carried out 48 fire missions targeting Russia’s oil and gas sector, reducing overall oil processing by 19%, or 53.4 million tonnes per year. The Air Force conducted 80 air strikes, while strike UAVs of the Defence Forces carried out more than 300,000 special missions. Strikes on enemy airfields also reduced the use of guided aerial bombs by 5%.
Despite a shortage of strike assets, air defence forces destroyed 21.7 thousand aerial targets and 21.6 thousand drones of various types in January. Syrskyi stressed that even after four years of full-scale war, the Ukrainian military is holding the line and continuing the fight.
