On Saturday, Russian drones were active over Sumy and its approaches throughout the day, according to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.

As a result of the attack, one of the enemy UAVs struck a critical infrastructure facility. Part of the city was temporarily left without power. Several key institutions switched to backup power.

“Specialists are already working to address the aftermath of the strike. We are doing everything possible to restore electricity to Sumy residents as quickly as possible,” Hryhorov said.

He also added that in the Sumy community, one man was killed and another injured in the enemy attack.

The strike occurred around 15:40 on a road in the Stetskivka district.

Two brothers were traveling on a motor block toward the Khotin community when they were attacked by an enemy drone.

A 57-year-old man was killed. His brother was injured and is receiving medical care.

“I urge residents of Sumy region to minimize travel toward the border areas, as the enemy systematically attacks civilian transport there,” Hryhorov warned.
