Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to a video showing a Russian drone deliberately pursuing a man who was selling vegetables in Kherson. The drone exploded near him, leaving the man wounded.
According to the president, the Russians themselves admitted committing the crime and not only expressed no regret but also took pride in abusing civilians.
“Every day, Russians carry out such ‘safaris’ against ordinary people in Kherson,” Zelenskyy said.
He stressed that the world must see every such case and understand that Russian troops take pleasure in killing and abusing people.
Zelenskyy said that peaceful coexistence with this threat is impossible to imagine without pressure on Russia, the dismantling of its aggressive capabilities and genuine security guarantees.
The president called for continued decisive action to protect lives and force Russia to think about peace rather than increasing the range of its drones.
According to him, the threat concerns not only Ukraine. Zelenskyy urged Finland, Kazakhstan, the Baltic states, Poland, the countries of the South Caucasus, Romania and Moldova to cooperate to secure genuine security guarantees and bring Russia’s war to an end.
“Russia’s ‘human safari’ must be stopped in Ukraine and must certainly not be allowed to spread to other countries,” the president stressed.
